[ ha, well... if jesse had been hoping that keith would be subtle about this, he's about to be very disappointed. jesse beats him to the shed, but only by a minute or so. ]
Hey.
[ keith gives a nod in greeting as he approaches the shed, then turns his attention to the heavy bolt and chains keeping the shed locked. while those look sturdy enough, the wood around it? not so much.then again, there's also a window higher up that they could probably crack open if one gave the other a boost up. keith frowns, weighing the two options before turning to jesse. ]
So. How do you wanna get in? If you gave me a boost, I could probably break open that window or we could just screw subtlety and get in through the door.
[ because well. there's really there won't be much subtlety once they get the truck out. ]
[ Jesse tenses a little when he hears someone approaching, briefly afraid that he's about to be caught, but he relaxes when he sees that it's just Keith. ]
Hey.
[ He nods in return, then follows Keith's lead, studying the chains like...well, like he has any idea what he's doing or looking at. A quick glance at the window up above has him frowning thoughtfully. They're both pretty skinny, but it still looks like it might be a tight fit. He glances at Keith curiously, with a helpless shake of his head. Those chains look pretty unbreakable to him. ]
[ which alone isn't much of an explanation, but give him a second. keith closes his eyes, focusing for a moment. a beat, then out of nowhere this steering wheel contraption appears in keith's right hand. he holds it up, then activates it turning iit into a sword. keith grins, then jerks his head back towards the chains. ]
My bayard should be able to cut through the chains, but even if it couldn't... it can definitely get through the wood it's holding together. Chains are only as secure as what they're holding together, y'know?
[ ofc the fact that he's saying any of this probably gives a good amount of insight into why keith is actually here besides "mullet." ]
[ Jesse just shakes his head, still frowning vaugely in confusion - that doesn't explain anything at all. Until Keith whips something out seemingly out of nowhere, like a fucking magic trick, and then as if that wasn't enough he moves his hand and the thing he'd been holding transforms into an honest to god sword. ]
Holy shit!
[ Jesse jumps back, eyes wide. What the fuck had he just seen? He blinks, staring as if expecting the sword to disappear, and then creeps closer, peering at it. But it seems just as solid and real as Jesse and Keith themselves, and really, is there more than one answer here? He flicks his eyes back up to Keith, and then grins, wide and devilish. ]
[ there's a lot that could and probably should be said about the value of subtlety and cooler heads prevailing, but ... frankly, keith's got limited sympathy for the sex trafficking alien overlords. if they break the shed, so what? if they break the truck, so what?
shooting jesse an equally devilish grin, keith laughs. ]
You're on. Let's make these assholes sorry for ever having brought us here in the first place.
[ and with no further hesitation, keith raises his sword and with a few quick slashes that make it abundantly clear that this whole breaking and entering gig is definitely something he's done before, the wood around the chains breaks apart and the door to the shed creaks open. ]
C'mon!
[ the inside of the large shed is illuminated only by whatever light filters in through the windows, but there's a large workspace fillce with leftover gardening supplies strewn around, a large desk and a hook where a set of keys are dangling and of course, THE GRAND PRIZE:: THE RUSTY TRUCK. ]
[ Jesse's not actually all that mad about being here, honestly. In a lot of ways - most ways, actually - it's better than the life he'd left behind.
But the fact is that they had been abducted and imprisoned here, and had aphrodisiacs costantly shoved at them on top of it. Even if things had happened to turn out all right for Jesse - at least so far - he's not above a little payback, just for the principle of the thing.
And apparently Keith's the perfect partner for just that exact thing. Jesse's eyes go wide and he laughs in pure amazement and admiration when Keith just whacks the whole thing open and the door creaks open. He hurries in after him, looking around curiously, but there's only one thing that can really catch his interest right now. Jesse grins wide when he spots the truck, and he snatches the keys off the wall, hesitating just long enough to glance at Keith, holding them up in one hand. ]
You wanna do the honors? Or...?
[ He's dying to get behind the wheel, but Keith had done the hard work of getting them inside, after all. It's only fair that he should get first dibs on driving, if he wants it. ]
[ keith takes a further moment to glance around. not that he thinks the porn aliens are dumb enough to be storing anything worth stealing in a low security shed, but you never know? he deactivates his sword, and picks up what what appears to be a plain old gardening trowel as jesse goes right for the keys.
the offer actually makes, debating it for a beat, but... ]
Nah, you go right ahead. I'll take shotgun.
[ a beat. ]
Make sure you get as much fun out of this as you can cuz when it's my turn I'm gonna rig it up to crash into the barrier keeping us in. Wanna see how tough that thing is.
[ stating all this so nonchalantly like this is all part of a plan that jesse agreed to despite, you know, this being the first time this has ever come up. ]
[ Jesse flashes him a grin, hopping behind the wheel. When Keith reveals his plan for crashing into the barrier, he doubletakes for a second, but he recovers quickly, laughing in delight. ]
Fuck yeah, man! Let's bust the hell out!
[ Sure, even if the truck manages to break through, they'll still be trapped on an alien planet, unless there happens to be a spaceship parked right outside the fence or something. But hell, they've already broken the lock and stolen the truck. Might as well make the most of it, right?
Speaking of which, Jesse's ready to make the most of things right away. As soon as Keith's settled in next to him, he sticks the keys in the ignition and floors it, careening out of the shed and onto the grounds. Luckily, the prison's not that populated, and the area they're in is deserted. There's plenty of room for a joyride, and Jesse pumps his fist in the air, yelling with joy as he starts doing donuts. ]
jesus i'm sorry about the late on this
