[ a difficult case, huh? keith hears the joke for what it is, but it doesn’t succeed in making him laugh. instead, it makes him wonder when exactly the last time shiro had been unreservedly happy even was. was it launch day of the kerberos mission? or was it earlier than that with adam? keith considers, sinking a little with contemplation only to be distracted by shiro prising his fingers free. keith looks at shiro, question unasked but plain to see on his face, only to settle with yet another unspoken oh as shiro holds him even closer.
