IC Information

Name: Keith
Canon: Voltron: Legendary Defender + CRAU
Canon Point: Post-final battle in S8
Age: 22

Background: Wiki

Character Summary:
self reliant → Keith was functionally orphaned and with no other family members to take him in, he grew up believing that he only has himself to count on. Whenever he can, he tries to handle everything on his own without leaning on anyone else and this is a central point of conflict between him and his friends when they have to work together. He gets progressively better at this, but he can get quite bullheaded and stubborn when he believes he has the right idea.

temperamental → Following the death of his dad, Keith was sent to live in a group home where he predictably grew to be more troubled. As seen during a flashback episode, the adults in Keith's life never gave him the time of day, believing he was a delinquent and a waste of time. This causes him to internalize some harmful self-defeating beliefs that reinforce bad behavior. If nobody will give him a chance, then what's the point in trying? Furthermore, if his mother could leave him before he could walk and talk, then why would anyone else be there for him? These sorts of beliefs can cause him to lash out at others when he's feeling down.

reckless/impulsive → Well if you don't even need to try, then what's the point in self restraint? Though he gets significantly better at reigning himself in and enforcing self discipline and focus as he grows older, Keith can have a tendency to do what he thinks is right regardless of the potential risks to himself.

pragmatic → Occasional interpersonal fuckery aside, however, when Keith is focused on a task, he's incredibly practical and logically minded. He's able to come up with strategies from point A to Z, with clarity and decisiveness beyond his years. Notably, he's also a pinch utilitarian and will choose to do what's in the best interest of the greatest number of people. Quick thinking, adaptible and resourceful, Keith is not the leader of Voltron for nothing.

strong sense of justice → Though it's not necessarily a conventionally agreed upon moral compass, Keith clearly has some Opinions on what's right and wrong. He believes he has a moral obligation to fight in a war at 18 years old, and despite not personally wanting to lead this war when Shiro disappears, believes that he has to anyway because it's the right thing to do. When he's fighting for a cause he truly believes in, he dedicates himself to it 100% showing bravery beyond his years.

loyal→ Related to the previous point, when someone manages to become important to Keith, there is virtually nothing that can dissuade him from doing his utmost to protect them. For example, there's a point in which he believes Shiro is trying to kill him and even gets part of his face burned off during their fight. Despite this, however, Keith makes every attempt to save Shiro and even chooses to fall to a certain death with Shiro rather than let go and save himself. When Keith cares he cares to a tunnel visioned degree.

CRAU
Keith will be coming in with about a year’s worth of CRAU from his time in the game [community profile] victory_road As Keith is from about a year after the war with the Galra ends, much of his character arc here was focused on learning how to relax and actually enjoy life, rather than deal with the constant stress of loss and warfare. As such, he's chilled out significantly and has gotten a better handle on his temper and interpersonal issues.

He got pretty well acquainted with the world of Pokemon in that time. Hee earned all 16 badges from across Johto and Kanto, and was gearing up to take on the Elite Four challenge.

Powers:
Ability to summon the Black Lion → Basically Keith is able to spiritually connect to and summon the Black Lion of Voltron. Under normal circumstances, this would entail summoning an enormous 50+ foot tall war machine with a whole bunch of advanced alien tech, but for the purposes of this game this will be nerfed. I’m thinking if anything, maybe via regain Keith could maybe summon a house-cat sized version of the mecha with downgraded lasers that can’t do too much damage, but that’s not okay, I’m fine with completely nerfing this!

Ability to summon his bayard → Basically a multiweapon that can take on different forms based on the needs of the user. Keith’s bayard typically takes on the appearance of a sword, but he’s also manifested a laser cannon, etc.

Galra biology → Being half Galra, Keith is physically stronger and more durable than what you’d expect from someone of his size/stature. For instance, he’s capable of punching people off their feet and send them flying back, but not able to punch through walls. Additionally, under duress his facial features become more Galra -- aka, fangs, slit pupils etc.

Kosmo → A large space wolf animal familiar that Keith will be entering the game with. Kosmo is basically an Arcanine sized good boy with the ability to teleport. He’s roughly around the same intelligence as Pokemon.

Joining which Corps?: Survey
Starting with which Pokémon?: A level 5 Houndour named Buddy that has been downgraded from being a Lv 100 Houndoom from a previous game.
